A great day was had by all at The Royal Ark Mariner Grand Assembly |
Great Queen Street on the 12th December 2022 |
About 10 West Lancashire Royal Ark Mariners accompanied the Provincial Grand Master R.W.Bro Keith Alan Beardmore to London in order to support W.Bros John Sarti, Philip Watson and Peter Schofield, who were honoured with Royal Ark Mariner Grand Rank by our Most Worshipful Pro Grand Master John Herbert Prizeman. |

Beating the rail strike at the RAM Assembly |
Many congratulations to them all. |
The ‘terrible icy and snowy weather’ (a small flurry for us northerners, but a blizzard for London locals) and the threat of rail strikes, made us intrepid travellers more than a little nervous, but the West Coast Mainline was a breeze - going south anyway! |
The enjoyment of the journey was helped of course by some red wine (just to keep the cold at bay) and far too much fun and laughter. |
The ceremony was superb; a real spectacle to watch and to be a part of. |
Our West Lancashire brother, W.Bro. Tony Farrar, The Grand Sword Bearer, escorted the Pro. Grand Master in the procession in proud and fine style. |
The weather kept W.Bros Philip and Peter away sadly, but W.Bro. Pinckard, an acting Grand Steward, was honoured to take W. Bro John Sarti up to to the Pro. Grand Master to be invested. |
The dinner following was a delight and was enjoyed by all. The speech by M.W. Bro Prizeman was particularly humorous and engaging. |
The Grand Assembly is definitely a date to put into your diaries for next year. A thoroughly enjoyable event. |
